Bill was a teacher of English, speech, and theater, taking his B.A. degree from Illinois College, Jacksonville, Illinois and his M.A. in theater from the University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois. He has taught elementary, secondary, and college English, French, speech, communications, and theater. He has been a professional theater actor, director, technical director (lighting and set construction), master carpenter, and show doctor in New York and Maine. Some of the members of his “theater” resume include, Vivian Vance, Jack Cassidy, Gig Young, Wilfred Hyde-White, Selma Diamond, Robert Alda, Alan Alda, Lynn Barry, Kitty Carlisle, Kate Smith, The Lakewood Theater, The Nyack Theater, The Lake Placid Center for the Performing Arts, and The Bel Canto Opera Showcase.

Music

As a hobby, Bill sings bass with the New Tradition Chorus, Northbrook, Illinois, and is the voice of West Towns, where for the last eight years he has been the MC for their Christmas Spectacular at the Tivoli Theater in Downers Grove, Illinois. He has performed on the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., Inc. International Chorus Contest stage eight of the last nine years with the Northbrook and Lombard Choruses in Calgary, Pittsburgh, Miami, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Anaheim, Kansas City, and Nashville (where the New Tradition won the International Chorus Championship) and toured with Northbrook to Brighton, England.
